Izzy Plus is the umbrella brand for the company behind Izzy, Harter, Fixtures Furniture and Abco. So while this is the first high end chair that Izzy has created, they, like Applied Ergonomics, have bridged the design and ergonomic worlds for many years. The Wabi was in the design process for five years before its introduction, and that design was based on fundamental ergonomic principles that we subscribe to, namely that the chair needs to help roll the hips forward, encouraging a healthy curve in the lower spine while also encouraging freedom of movement. To that end, the Wabi and its sister chair the Nikko share a completely unique seat pan and a small lower back support. It's an engineering marvel, and the chair as a whole is a work of art. You have to see it and sit in it.
Wabi is the full-function task chair version and Nikko is for what Izzy calls second and third spaces, where flexibility, inspiration, and collaboration rule. Think touch down collaborative tables, high benches and other more formal meeting rooms. Nikko flexes but does not recline, encouraging focused posture and thinking.

The key to Wabi’s revolutionary design lies in the seat, not the back. The seat pan design is engineered to support proper pelvic alignment, while the rest of the chair supports that hard-working seat.
