At Applied Ergonomics, we understand that every commercial space is more than a physical environment — it’s a reflection of a company’s identity, culture, and aspirations.
Since joining us as our Workplace Solutions and Sales Strategy Executive, Jane Haglund has been helping us deliver on our promise to deliver brilliant design solutions tailored to each client’s exacting needs.
With over a decade of experience in commercial design and project execution, Jane has quickly become an indispensable part of our team, helping clients navigate the complexities of commercial interior transformations with confidence and ease.
Jane’s ability to balance creativity, functionality, and strategy has been demonstrated in her work on some of our most dynamic projects.
“Jane’s deep commitment to her clients, unwavering professionalism, and strong advocacy make her an invaluable asset to our team,” said Jeffrey Meltzer, President of Applied Ergonomics. “Her keen understanding of workplace needs, strong communication and organization skills, coupled with her client-first approach to her projects, will be instrumental as we continue to enhance our solutions and drive success.”
Win Together When Collaborating
One of her recent projects of note is the completion of a corporate office in the iconic 1095 Avenue of the Americas building in New York City. Partnering with Alicia Perkovich of GARNETT Architects, LLC, and Storey Gram of Kimball International, Jane played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. Together, they curated a space that exudes smart design and elevated quality, featuring Kimball International’s premier collections.
“Jane and Jeff, alongside our partners at Garnett Architects, were a pleasure to work with in setting up our executive office. We envisioned a space that was clean, connected, and functional, and the team delivered flexible and thoughtful solutions. I would welcome the opportunity to work with them again on future projects,” says the client’s Chief Admin Officer.
Jane’s expertise extends beyond corporate environments. Her work on X-Golf’s interactive space in Chicagoland exemplifies her ability to pivot in her approach to design. The hospitality and virtual sports space entices and excites with a modern approach and an inspired collaboration with MODSILVER, Inc., for custom tables to set the space apart.
Past Learning, Future Growth
Prior to joining Applied Ergonomics, Jane built a career leading complex projects with humility. At Rightsize Facility, she oversaw the completion of a corporate headquarters in Chicago’s historic ‘The Rookery Building.’
Jane muses, “My career has been humbling. When you’re leading a team – leading projects – it’s essential you lead from the front. If you’re not in the trenches learning with your team, you lose. There are so many things I don’t know yet, and I love that. I want to keep learning, and making mistakes, and taking risks, to set myself apart.”
Miss Haglund brings her sales prowess from worlds outside contract furniture. She led luxury retail teams at Bloomingdale’s on Michigan Avenue as well as the historic RH Chicago | The Gallery at Three Arts Club. These experiences awoke a passion in her for design’s impact on the human experience – and a profound investment in bringing that to light with each client.
Jane believes, “the process is the project. If you continue to refine and stay present in the process, the win happens organically.”
Do Something Different – Surprise Yourself
Furniture expertise, both in the knowledge of the product and understanding layouts – is critical. Jane agrees, but in large, credits her growing success to her innate curiosity in people’s needs and care for her clients. Miss Haglund has a rare skillset to engage with transparency and empathy that fosters trust and loyalty.
Since joining Applied Ergonomics, Jane has elevated our ability to deliver results and propel our relationships with the architecture and design community. Her dedication to carefully vetting each project to understand the client’s and designer’s vision, and the ability to nurture the process with precision and care, ensures the spaces we create are lasting ones.
Applied Ergonomics believes in creating spaces that inspire and empower. With Jane’s help, we know we will deliver spaces that help our clients achieve their goals and thrive in their environments.
Miss Haglund’s dedication to her clients and internal team is evident in her actions and commitment to the company’s growth strategy. When asked to expound on her choice to invest so fully in her role, she responded with candor.
“I have worked for so many companies that were afraid of my innovation. ‘Drink the Kool-Aid, Jane,’ never suited me. At Applied Ergonomics, I am valued for my ideas,” she says. “I feel lucky to finally be heard, in a very loud industry – disruption to come in 2025. Let’s go team.”
