Our founder, Jeff Meltzer, has been an avowed environmentalist since the 1970s, when it was decidedly unconventional. Applied Ergonomics, as a dealer of other companies’ products, doesn’t directly control the manufacturing processes of the products we sell. Having said that, and in keeping with our personal philosophy, we practice sustainable business design and are very concerned that the items we specify and sell leave a minimal impact on the environment. With environmentally conscious ergonomic consulting as a main priority, we’ll help businesses figure out ways to go green!

• Many of our products are GreenGuard or SCS Indoor Advantage certified, which denotes minimal noxious offgassing.

• Many of the fabrics that we use are Cradle to Cradle certified.
• Our carpet mills have recycling programs for old goods and high recycled and recyclable contents in their new goods.
• Our lighting systems use LED, energy efficient T5 or T8 lamps with optional dimmers, occupancy and light harvesting sensors, and qualify for tax deductions and utility rebates.
• We carry multiple moveable wall systems that avoid tons of landfill waste while benefiting from accelerated depreciation schedules.

We also believe in the three R’s: reduce, reuse and recycle. It is our practice to reuse shipping boxes whenever possible, so if a product is delivered in a box that appears to have been used before, please don’t be surprised. We are saving the environment and your money at the same time.
