Terms and Conditions

For product that is purchased on this website, the following terms and conditions apply.  These may or may not be similar to terms and conditions applicable to Applied Ergonomics non-ecommerce business.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We’ll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).  Please note that this applies solely to products that are not custom built-to-order, as is the case with many chairs.  Products that are built to order are not returnable without Applied Ergonomics express written consent.  In any case, please contact Applied Ergonomics for a Return Authorization (RA).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

For returns that are not the result of Applied Ergonomics or manufacturing partner error, a Restocking Fee equivalent to 25% of the order (minus taxes), will be applied. The Restocking Fee will be charged to the original payment source.

Shipping

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.  Free freight terms are within the continental United States only.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options we choose. Depending on the shipping provider we choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Most items we well include the shipping cost in the price, however, a few incur a separate charge based on the number of items in your order.

Many items will drop ship directly from our manufacturers, so split shipping of orders can occur.  Many items that we sell do not ship via an inside delivery carrier such as UPS or Federal Express and will ship instead via LTL common carrier.  Free freight terms for these items may be exclusively to a receiving dock or must be taken off the rear of the truck by the customer.  At the customer’s request, Applied Ergonomics can arrange for a local warehouse to receive, deliver and assemble our products.  This will incur additional charges, which will be quoted and added to the order prior to arrangements being made.

Freight damage does occur, and if an item ships directly to a customer and not a receiving warehouse, it is the client’s responsibility to check for visible freight damage to the packaging prior to signing for a delivery.  If damage to the packaging is seen, please note it on the bill of lading that you sign and if the product itself is damaged, keep the original packaging materials for later inspection by a freight company representative.  Please photograph the damaged product as well as the visibly damaged packaging and e-mail these to us together with the freight claim.  If the damage is concealed, please send us photographs of the damaged product, but it will not be necessary to retain the packaging.

Applied Ergonomics is located in Illinois and is licensed to collect sales tax in Illinois and other states as required by local, state and federal law. Your sales taxes will be calculated in the shopping cart.

International Shipping

We transact purchases for goods going outside the US offline due to frequent changes to import / export policy, customs, air freight costs, international licensing agreements and the like that we cannot predict from day to day.

International purchasers will be responsible for payment of any tariffs, customs fees and surcharges that may arise from their shipment. International customers may elect to use their US-based freight forwarder, and we can quote freight to that forwarder’s location for bulk orders.

Payment for international orders to Canada and Mexico can usually be transacted with a major credit card; however, outside of North America we may require you to pay via bank draft or ACH.

Our Free Shipping policy is not applicable to international orders; however, if we have a distributor in your country who will extend the same terms, we’ll be happy to extend the policy for you. For instance, we do conduct business with many Canadian partners who will drop ship your product at no charge. Please contact us if you have any questions.
