The HÃ…G Capisco 8106 Sonography Stool is a specially optioned version of our best-selling standard stool highlighting features critical to medical applications: cleanability, a taller seat height, and foot support. Ultrasound technicians have appreciated the Capisco for many years, as it gives much better support than a standard stool. Some techs sit fully on the seat while others use it as a standing support. Some sit backwards and lean into the back as they work. The Capisco really is the ideal stool for sonography.
Our Sonography Stool comes standard with the tall gas lift and foot ring, plus hard floor self-locking casters but is available in other configurations to suit specific needs. The tall gas lift with the footrest is ideal for a team of technicians who may range in height. Since it is relatively small, it is unobtrusive for those who don’t want to use it, and in most cases allows the stool to be positioned right next to the ultrasound table. Height adjustable tables may go low enough for the middle range gas lift without a foot ring to be a better option. To help our clients avoid mistakes, we don’t offer the shortest gas lift for sonography.
Ultrasounds are almost always on hard floors, not carpet, and we suggest the locking casters for safety. Non-locking multi-floor casters are also popular, while some teams choose to use the optional glides in place of casters, making the stool essentially immobile.
Until now, upholstery for the Sonography Stool was limited to Momentum Canter EPU polyurethane in just three colors. Canter remains a great choice; it is well-priced, super-durable, 4:1 bleach or peroxide cleanable, environmentally friendly GREENGUARD certified and PVC free. Canter has a slight leatherlike grain pattern. We now offer Canter EPU in 21 colors! Beeline EPU shares many of Canter’s characteristics and has a slight linear texture that helps grip the user, making it easier to avoiding sliding on the seat and maintaining supportive lumbar contact with the back. Eon EPU is also textured with a basketweave pattern, and otherwise shares similar performance with Beeline. All of our polyurethane fabrics are PVC free, have no phthalates, no heavy metal, and have low VOC’s. Silica is a newer technology that is made from 100% silicone. It has a smooth face but natural grip that keeps the user from sliding. Silica is also inherently antimicrobial. All of our Sonography Stool upholsteries meet the Healthier Hospitals guidelines and are approved for use by Kaiser Permanente.
