Cherry MX (Brown) Low-force, tactile key switches

The Cherry MX low-force tactile switch (brown stem) is a semi-custom low force tactile design created in 1992 to Kinesis’ specifications. “Tactility” is a slightly elevated force around the midpoint of the stroke of the key which lets you know the switch is about to be activated. A tactile response is preferred by many ergonomists, because it cues your fingers that activation is about to occur and is thought to reduce the likelihood or incidence or “bottoming out” the switch with a hard impact. The peak (tactile) force is ~55gm, following by an activation force of ~45gm.

NEW!!! Cherry MX (Red) “Quiet” Low-force, linear key switches

The Cherry MX “Quiet” linear feel, low-force switch has the same force properties as the standard Cherry MX Red but incorporates a patented noise reduction feature making the switch noticeably quieter than the “clackety” sound of the MX Brown switch. The MX “Quiet” Red is an ideal choice in open work environments where ambient noise is a concern. There is a consistent force throughout the full stroke of the key so there is no tactile feedback unless the switch bottoms out. Many gamers and heavy typists prefer the Cherry Red’s due to their “smoother” feel. Since there is no “peak” or tactile force, the total effort required to reach the activation force of 45 gm is slightly less than with the tactile (brown stem) switch.

VIP3 Pro Premium accessory kit (Includes v-lifters, palm supports, premium palm pads)

The VIP3 Pro Premium tenting accessory includes left and right “v-Lifters” and all-new cushioned Palm Supports which easily attach to the base of the Freestyle Pro Keyboard allowing quick and reproducible slope settings of 5, 10 and 15 degrees with the use of the integrated palm supports.

V3 Pro Accessory kit (v-lifters without integrated palm supports)

The Freestyle V3 Pro Accessory Kit adds a tenting option of 5°, 10°, or 15° to the Freestyle Pro Keyboard. These configurations reduce pronation, allowing the user to move from a palms down typing posture to one where the underside of the palms are now slightly facing one another. This can significantly reduce the risk of fatigue, stiffness and pain in the wrists and forearms.

Freestyle Pro Premium Palm Supports (Includes one pair of cushioned, washable palm pads)

The Freestyle Premium Palm Supports are padded with 3/8″ thick cushioned foam, wrapped in a soft leather-like surface that is non-porous, sweat resistant and hand-washable for maximum comfort, performance, and durability.

The integrated pad is much thicker and durable than the Freestyle2 (AC700) pad.

Freestyle Pro Premium Palm Pads – includes one pair of cushioned, washable palm pads

The Freestyle Pro Premium Palm Pads are designed to fit the optional plastic palm supports that are available for the Freestyle Pro keyboard. The 3/8″ thick pads feature a layer of cushioning foam for extra comfort when using a Freestyle keyboard and are wrapped in a soft leather-like surface that is non-porous, sweat resistant and hand-washable for maximum comfort, performance, and durability. Included with each set of pads are double-sided velcro tabs for mounting the pads to the Freestyle Pro Palm Supports or those included as part of the the Freestyle VIP3 Pro Accessory Kit.

Replacement Palm Pads for Freestyle keyboard palm supports

Cushioned Palm Pads are approximately 1/4 inch thick closed-cell foam. They have an unusually soft, gel-like feel and are covered with a silky, lycra fabric. The adhesive backing provides firm adhesion but may be easily removed without leaving any residue when replacements are needed.
